About the Foundation

In Kannada, Mamatheya Madilu means “a lap of motherly love” — the safe, caring embrace every person deserves. That idea is the foundation of our work.

We began as a community initiative in Bengaluru in 2020, supporting underprivileged and poor families in and around Hebbal. In March 2025 the Foundation was formally registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, as a Section 8 not-for-profit company.

Our focus is simple: uplift people living in poverty, stand beside women as they build independent lives, and make sure children grow up safe, healthy and in school.

Our work

We work with underprivileged communities in Bengaluru, focusing on practical help that changes daily life.

Women's empowerment

Initiatives that help women build skills, confidence and financial independence — because when a woman thrives, her whole family thrives.

Child welfare

Welfare and guidance activities for children and adolescents — keeping young people safe, supported and in education.

Poverty relief

Direct support for families living in poverty: essential supplies, assistance in times of crisis, and help accessing the services they are entitled to.

Education support

Encouraging children — especially girls — to stay in school and learn, with the materials and mentoring they need to succeed.

Health & wellbeing

Awareness and guidance on health, hygiene and nutrition for women, children and families in the communities we serve.

Community outreach

Listening to the community, understanding what people need, and responding — person by person, family by family.

Winter blanket distribution drive

On 26 December, Mamatheya Madilu Social Foundation organised a blanket distribution drive in Hebbal, supporting poor and underprivileged people during the winter season. Blankets were distributed to needy individuals and families to help them stay warm and safe from the cold.

The programme was carried out with the support of generous donors and dedicated volunteers who came forward with a shared vision of serving society. The Foundation believes that small acts of kindness can bring warmth, comfort and hope to the lives of those facing hardship.

We sincerely thank all the supporters and well-wishers who made this initiative a success — and we remain committed to organising such social service activities to uplift vulnerable communities.

Why women first?

In the communities we serve, women carry the heaviest burdens of poverty — and they are also the most powerful force for change. A woman with skills, income and confidence lifts her children, her family and her neighbours with her.

That is why women's empowerment is not one programme among many for us. It is the thread that runs through everything the Foundation does.

Every child in school

Education breaks the cycle of poverty. We support children's learning and work to make sure that girls in particular are not left behind — because an educated girl becomes a woman who can shape her own future.

From school supplies to guidance for adolescents, we stand with young people at the moments that matter most.
